Justin Sun will make BitTorrent a dedicated sidechain for DeFi in the Tron ecosystem
Tron will receive a second level (L2) solution on October 30th, this unexpected decision was made by the founder of the project Justin Sun. The first L2 protocols appeared on Bitcoin and Ethereum to scale the blockchain and speed up transactions, but Sun decided to use this technology to compete in the DeFi space.
Tron will get a sidechain based on the BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) protocol, working with PoS consensus and supporting EVM.
EVM Compatibility Will Open BTTC Network Compatibility Mechanism with Leading Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain Blockchains. Tron users will be able to transfer assets directly to these two networks. But Justin Sna has a different goal by launching the L2 protocol.

Firstly, BTTC should become a separate layer for DeFi projects, and secondly, compatibility with EVM will be a reason to attract developers of smart contracts on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain to the network. Tron Foundation will provide $ 1 billion to fund this transition.
Not the first time Justin Sun has resorted to trying to “buy” the loyalty of independent developers. Tron has previously launched various grant programs for the development of DeFi, which attracted only low-rated projects.
